- High Court Decision
The Northern Land Council has extended the interim arrangements until 30 November 2014. These interim arrangements allow commercial fishers (including Fishing Tour Operators) and recreational fishers and other water users to continue to access waters overlying Aboriginal land, apart from the upper tidal waters of the Finniss River.
The Anindilyakwa Land Council has extended the interim arrangements while ever “good faith” negotiations are continuing with Government.
The Northern Territory Government is continuing to meet with Land Councils and stakeholders individually or as part of a broader stakeholder group to work towards a practical negotiated outcome.
